I History of the ELC   I Our Education model   I Testimonials

The ELC follows a constuctivist curriculum model based on the learning theories of Piaget and Vygotsky that is enhanced by Montessori and the schools of Reggio Emilia. Children, students and faculty use technology daily to document learning and assessment. The curriculum is aligned with the Pennsylvania Department of Education Early Childhood indicators (standards) for preschool and kindergarten.

The setting is an open, mixed-age environment of three, four, five and six year olds. Most children begin the program as three-year-olds and continue through kindergarten with the same teachers (looping preschool and kindergarten). The open setting promotes learning at all levels.
